Getting to The Ferrier from airports and stations

The fastest routes from Heathrow, Gatwick, City Airport, St Pancras, King’s Cross, Euston and Paddington, as our front desk gives them.

Front desk team · 3 August 2026

We are on Sumner Street in SE1, a street back from the river between Southwark Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge. Three stations are within a ten-minute walk: Southwark on the Jubilee line, Blackfriars (Thameslink and the District and Circle lines) and London Bridge. Times below are door to door on a normal weekday.

From the airports

  • Gatwick, about 40 minutes. Thameslink runs direct from Gatwick Airport to Blackfriars and London Bridge several times an hour. From Blackfriars, use the South Bank exit and walk 8 minutes. The Gatwick Express goes to Victoria, which is further from us.
  • Heathrow, about 55 to 65 minutes. The Elizabeth line to Farringdon, then two stops on Thameslink to Blackfriars. Or the Piccadilly line to Green Park and the Jubilee line to Southwark: slower, but only one change.
  • London City Airport, about 35 minutes. DLR to Canning Town, then the Jubilee line to Southwark.
  • Luton, about 60 minutes. Luton Airport Parkway to Blackfriars on Thameslink, no change.
  • Stansted, about 70 minutes. Stansted Express to Tottenham Hale, Victoria line to Green Park, Jubilee line to Southwark. Or to Liverpool Street and a taxi.

From the main line stations

  • St Pancras International and King’s Cross: Thameslink from St Pancras to Blackfriars, 10 minutes, then 8 minutes’ walk.
  • Euston: the Northern line (Bank branch) to London Bridge, about 20 minutes, then a 12-minute walk or a short taxi.
  • Paddington: the Elizabeth line to Farringdon, then Thameslink to Blackfriars, about 25 minutes.
  • Waterloo: one stop on the Jubilee line to Southwark, or an 18-minute walk along the river past the National Theatre.
  • Liverpool Street: a 25-minute walk over London Bridge, or a 10-minute taxi.

By river

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers stops at Bankside Pier, four minutes from the hotel, on the route between Westminster and Greenwich. It is the best way to arrive if you are not in a hurry.

By car

We have no parking. The hotel is inside the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zone. A taxi from Heathrow costs about £75 to £95 depending on traffic; from Gatwick about £90 to £120. We can book a car for you.
