Pike Garden
In the middle ages the land behind Bankside was the Pike Garden: fish ponds that kept the Bishop of Winchester’s household and the river taverns in pike and bream. Our restaurant keeps the name and the habit of feeding the neighbourhood.
Head chef Ravi Chandran cooks British produce with a light hand: fish from Cornwall and the Kent coast, rare-breed pork, vegetables from two farms in the Weald, bread from Jolene and cheese from Neal’s Yard. The menu changes every few weeks; the fish pie for two never leaves.
